Description
This barn dates from the late 18th century and is located immediately to the east of Court Barton Farmhouse. It is constructed of granite and slate rubble with a gable-ended roof covered in scantle slate. The barn follows a rectangular plan, incorporating a central threshing floor and a granary at the left-hand end, with a storeroom or animal house situated below the granary. A horse engine house projects from the right-hand end of the barn. The front elevation is asymmetrical, featuring a central cart entrance flanked by projecting cheeks. A ground floor door and a window to the granary are located to the left of the cart entrance, with stone steps providing access to the granary at the left gable end. The octagonal horse engine house has a wide opening on its left-hand side. The interior features a late 19th-century king-post roof structure.
