Description
Susan's Salon Thatched Cottage is a 18th-century cottage that also serves as a hairdresser's premises, located on Winkleigh High Street. The building features rendered cob walls and a gable-ended thatched roof, with a brick stack at the left gable end. The current layout consists of a single room, although it may have originally had two rooms with a small service room to the right. The left-hand section, now the hairdresser's, was likely an outbuilding in the past. The cottage is two storeys high and has a symmetrical front with two windows, featuring later 19th-century four-pane sash windows and a central part-glazed door. There is a one-storey addition on the left side for the hairdresser's premises. Inside, no original features are visible on the ground floor, but an open fireplace may be hidden from view.
