Description

Brook Cottage is a small house dating from around the mid-19th century, with a later 19th-century addition. The building features rendered walls and a gable-ended slate roof, with two rendered brick stacks at the left end and one axial stack. The original layout was likely a symmetrical two-room plan, probably double depth, with a central entrance and likely service rooms at the rear. In the later 19th century, the house was extended at the right-hand end, likely for non-domestic purposes, and an outshut was built in front. The exterior is two storeys high, with the original symmetrical three-window front on the left side, which includes 16-pane sash windows and a central gabled 20th-century porch with a 19th-century panelled door behind. The right-hand end has an additional window and a doorway on the first floor next to a 20th-century casement, with an outshut projecting from its right-hand end. The interior has not been inspected.
