Description

NORTHLEW NORTHLEW SX 59 NW 9/244 Brook Cottage - GV II Small house. Circa mid C19 with later C19 addition. Rendered walls. Gable ended slate roof. 2 rendered brick stacks are at left end and one axial. Plan: originally symmetrical 2-room probably double depth plan with central entry and likely to be service rooms at rear. In later C19 it was extended at the right- hand end probably for non-domestic purposes with an outshut built in front. Exterior: 2 storeys. Original symmetrical 3-window front to left with 16 pane sashes and central gabled C20 porch with C19 panelled door behind. 1 window addition at right-hand end has doorway on 1st floor adjoining a C20 casement with an outshut projecting from its right-hand end. Interior: not inspected.
