Description
No. 29 on Coombe Vale Road is a house that was formerly part of No. 31, dating from the early 19th century. It features painted stucco and a slate roof with a stack on the left gable end. The house has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall with a two-window range; the right-hand window belongs to No. 31, which has its entrance on the right side. The early 19th-century doorcase has raised-and-fielded panels on the pilasters that support an entablature, along with panelled reveals and soffit. The late 19th-century windows are horned 2/2-pane sash types.
Inside, there is an early 19th-century staircase located at the rear left, featuring stick balusters and a turned newel. A square window to the right of the staircase has margin panes. To the right of the passage, there is a blocked semicircular arch that used to lead to No. 31. The interior includes six-panel doors and panelled shutters. The front room has semicircular-arched recesses with cupboards below flanking the fireplace, while the rear room features semi-elliptical arched recesses.
