Description
Nos. 2 and 2A on Fore Street in Teignmouth is a mid-19th century house with a shop. The building features painted stucco and a slate roof with a stack at the rear left. It has a two-unit plan and stands three storeys tall with a three-window range. The windows are 6/1-pane sash windows with moulded architraves; the centre windows are narrower, from the later 19th century, and have horns on the frames with segmental-arched glazing. The shop front, likely original, includes a moulded cornice on the fascia, pilasters on either side of the shop, and a former six-panel door to the right, where the top two panels have been replaced with glazing. The shop also features colonnettes with rounded caps and plinths at the angle of the plate-glass window, which slopes back to a 20th-century door. The interior has not been inspected.
