Description
Ness Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 19th century. It features painted stucco and a steeply-pitched thatched roof with a wide stack at the rear center. Originally designed with a three-room plan, it has been enlarged into an L-plan following a fire. The building is in a picturesque Gothic style.
The exterior is a single storey with an attic and has a symmetrical three-window arrangement. The east front, which faces the sea, includes a fretted eaves board above a central later 19th-century two-light casement window with margin panes and Gothic tracery in the overlight. Below this, there is a panelled wood apron, likely the former door, flanked by 6/6-pane sash windows. A central gabled dormer features a similar window to the one below.
On the left side, there is one 6/6-pane sash window along with a 20th-century door and window. The rear of the house has 19th-century casements. The interior has not been inspected.
