Description

This is an 18th-century house located on Middle Street in Shaldon. The exterior is painted render over cob construction, with a hipped thatched roof that was likely raised at some point. A large external brick stack is visible on the right return. The house originally had a two-room plan, with the stack positioned to the right. It is a single-storey building with an attic space. The front facade has a two-window arrangement. The windows are modern replacements; three-light, two-pane casements are set within eyebrowed half-dormers in the attic, and late 20th-century two-light casements with small panes are on the ground floor. A six-panel door, glazed to the top and fitted with an iron knocker, is centrally positioned, and has a modern porch. The interior was not inspected.
