Description

Home Farm Cottage, comprising numbers 1 and 2, is a farmhouse dating to circa 1840-50. Constructed of rendered stone rubble, the front portion features a slate roof, while the rear has a corrugated asbestos roof. A tall axial brick stack is present, along with a stack at the left end. The building follows a three-room plan, incorporating an entrance hall situated between the left and centre rooms, and a kitchen wing attached to the rear of the right-hand end, creating an overall L-shaped plan. It is two storeys high, with a regular four-window facade. This facade features hornless 16-paned sash windows. A cambered arched doorway is located to the left of the centre, with a four-panelled door. A 20th-century French window is present to the right, and two 16-paned hornless sashes to each side. A lean-to pantiled porch roof is situated at the right end. Much of the original 19th-century internal joinery remains intact.
