2/168 No.3 Darby's Cottages - GV II

End cottage of a row of 3. Circa 1800 or earlier. Roughcast cob on stone footings; gabled-end slate roof, with ridge tiles. Double-depth plan house with axial stack, brick shaft. It stands forward of the other houses in the row (Nos. 1 and 2 Darby's Cottages, q.v.). 2 storeys. Front: irregular fenestration; one 12-pane hornless sash window to ground floor. The door, with plain and fielded panels and a rectangular fanlight with margin panes, and a 12-pane hornless sash window above, are both set in a section of wall that runs at an angle and connects the front plane of this cottage with that of Nos. 1 and 2. Rear: with two 12-pane hornless sash windows to each floor, half-glazed rear door. Interior not inspected.
