Description
Darby's Cottages is an end cottage in a row of three, dating from around 1800 or earlier. It is constructed of roughcast cob on stone footings and features a gabled-end slate roof with ridge tiles. The house has a double-depth plan and an axial stack with a brick shaft. This cottage stands forward of the other two houses in the row (Nos. 1 and 2 Darby's Cottages). It is two storeys high and has an irregular arrangement of windows on the front. There is one 12-pane hornless sash window on the ground floor. The door, which has plain and fielded panels, includes a rectangular fanlight with margin panes, and there is a 12-pane hornless sash window above it. Both the door and the window are set in a section of wall that angles and connects this cottage with Nos. 1 and 2. At the rear, there are two 12-pane hornless sash windows on each floor and a half-glazed rear door. The interior has not been inspected.
