Description
Oak Cottage is the end cottage of a row of three, mostly dating from the mid-19th century but possibly retaining some fabric from the 17th century. The building is rendered and features a gabled-end slate roof. It has a single-depth plan, with a second range added behind. The older front range is heated by two internal front lateral stacks. The cottage is two storeys high with an asymmetrical front that has a two-window range. On the first floor, there are two 12-pane hornless sash windows, while the ground floor has one 20-pane hornless sash window and a 20th-century single light casement window. The gable walls of both ranges are adorned with wavy bargeboarding, and there is one 16-pane hornless sash window on the side elevations, with the rest being 20th-century casement windows. Oak Cottage is included for its group value on an important site close to the parish church.
