Description
Dingles is a cottage forming part of a row, likely dating from the 17th century and remodelled in the 19th century. The walls are roughcast cob, and the roof is thatched. It is a single-depth range with extensions to the rear, and it was probably originally two cottages, with the right-hand part once operating as a shop. There is an end stack to the left, with a brick shaft. The cottage has two storeys and a three-window asymmetrical front. The first floor has two nine-pane horizontally sliding sash windows to either side of a central hornless sash window with three panes at the top and six at the bottom. The ground floor has a nine-pane horizontally sliding sash window to the left of a glazed door beneath a thatched porch, and a nine:fifteen:nine pane bay window to the right, with a second entrance to its right. Dingles, together with the other cottages in the row, form an important group of buildings close to the parish church.
