Description
Shepherd's is a mid-19th century end cottage that is part of a row of three. It is built of brick in Flemish bond, designed to resemble gauged brickwork, and features a gabled-end slate roof. The cottage has a double-depth layout and a central staircase plan, with end stacks. It stands two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with a three-window range.
On the first floor, there are two 16-pane hornless sash windows with a blocked window between them, located above the doorway. To the left of the doorway is a similar sash window, while to the right, a late 19th or early 20th century canted bay window with a 2:4:2 pane configuration has been inserted into a former shop window space, which still retains its moulded cornice. The doorway is surrounded by a possibly Coade stone frame, decorated with leaves and fronds, and features panelled reveals and a panelled door topped with a semi-circular fanlight that has glazing bars.
The right-hand end elevation includes a 12-pane hornless sash window on the first floor, and there are two 2-pane horned sash windows on the ground floor.
