Description
The White Hart Inn is a public house that possibly dates back to the 17th century and was remodeled in the 19th century. It is constructed of roughcast cob with some brick, featuring a gabled end slate roof, while the rear wing has a hipped slate roof. The building's original plan is difficult to determine, but it may have originally been a three-room layout with a cross passage, where the higher end is to the left of the passage site, and an axial stack that heats the hall. There are two end stacks and the building has two storeys.
The front of the inn has a four-window range, with 16-pane hornless sash windows on the first floor, some of which still have crown glass. The ground floor features two doors, with the one on the right possibly indicating the site of the passage, along with three hornless sash windows—two with 16 panes and one with 12 panes. At the rear, the wing includes a 16-pane hornless sash window on the inner face and a tripartite horned sash window at the rear end. There are remains of an external stair turret under a catslide roof located at the rear of the main range near the junction with the wing. Additionally, there is an early 19th-century three-light casement window at the left-hand end of the main range.
