Description

The lychgate and churchyard wall to the south of the Church of St Swithun were built in the late 19th century. The lychgate features a tiled gabled-end roof with crested ridge tiles and open timberwork. It has double gates that are planked below with balusters above. The churchyard wall includes a notable stretch of popple (cobble) walling set on a limestone plinth. The coping is made of slated triangular sections with ridge tiles, and it rests on paired brick corbels.
