Description

A pair of cottages dating from the mid-19th century, possibly incorporating earlier fabric, form part of a row. The cottages are constructed of brick in Flemish bond, with gabled-end slate roofs and ridge tiles. The rear wing to number 2 is of cob, partially roughcast on stone footings, with a gabled-end pantiled roof. They have a double-depth plan, featuring two axial stacks and a rear stack to number 2.

The front of number 1 has a three-window range, originally symmetrical. It features 12-pane hornless sash windows to the first floor, a blocked window between them, and a half-glazed central door with a sash window to the left. A 2:6:2 pane canted bay is on the right. Number 2 has a symmetrical two-window range with 12-pane hornless sashes to all windows and a central door with fielded and plain panels. The interior was not inspected.
