Description

Cliffe Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage located on Sowden Lane in Lympstone. The building is rendered, possibly brick, and features a gabled end slate roof. It has a double depth plan, with front and rear rooms situated on the left side of the entrance hall. There are rear and end stacks with brick shafts. The cottage is two storeys tall and has an asymmetrical front with a two-window range. All three windows consist of two lights, featuring 19th-century casements with three panes per light and margin panes. The entrance includes a fielded panel door, which is sheltered by a canopy supported by shaped brackets. On the right side, there is a 16-pane hornless sash window, and a 12-pane sliding sash window is located in the basement.
