Description
Strand House is a detached house dating to around 1840. It is built of rendered limestone with a gabled slate roof and end stacks. Originally designed as a double-depth plan house, it featured a principal room on each side of a central entrance hall, with service rooms located behind. The rooms on the right-hand side have subsequently been converted into a single large room, and the staircase has been relocated to the left-hand side. The front elevation presents a symmetrical three-window arrangement; it contains 16-pane hornless sash windows throughout, with the window above the central doorway now blocked. A glazed front door is topped with a rectangular fanlight. Original internal features remain, including a dog-leg staircase with stick balusters.
