Description
Kilrush is a middle house in a row of three, dating to around 1810. It was likely built at the same time as the adjacent Underhill House, sharing a common axial stack. Constructed in brick using a Flemish bond pattern, the roof is slate, with a gabled end on the left. The house follows a double-depth plan, featuring a principal room to the right of the entrance hall and a rear range of rooms extending to the left, partially obscured by the adjoining Metherells. The building is three storeys high. The front facade has a single window bay. A moulded cornice returns to the left side as far back as the stack shared with Metherells. Hornless sash windows are present on all floors; the second floor has a 3:9:3 pane configuration, while the first and ground floors have 4:12:4 panes. A round-headed doorway is located on the extreme left, featuring pilasters and an open pediment, leading to a panelled door with a semi-circular traceried fanlight.
