Description

The limeburning kilns located below the rear garden of Limekiln House are a group of five kilns set into a substantial sea wall above the high water mark. Some of these kilns likely date back to the early 19th century. They are constructed from sandstone, limestone, and brick. All but the northern kiln, which is entirely made of brick and features a pointed arch, are blocked. The kilns have round-headed arches, with voussoirs made from a mix of stone and brick.
