Description

The Swan Inn is a public house, formerly known as the Railway Inn, dating from the early 19th century. The building features blocked plaster, likely over brick, and has a gabled-end slate roof with heavy stone coping. It has a double-depth plan that has been significantly altered, with internal end stacks. The structure is two storeys high and has a front with a three-window range. The first floor includes 16-pane hornless sash windows, all equipped with external shutters. A central doorway is flanked by pilasters and a cornice, topped with a rectangular fanlight. On either side of the doorway are canted bay windows with 8:12:8 pane hornless sashes. The right end of the building has a leanto extension, while there are additional extensions on the left side and at the rear. The rear also features two 12-pane hornless sash windows on the first floor.
