Description

Appletree Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage located on Dunstall Green Road in Dalham. It features a rendered exterior over a timber frame set on a brick plinth, topped with a gabled thatch roof and a brick stack on the left end. The cottage has a two-unit plan and is a single storey with a two-window range. The windows include one-light and two-light casements with glazing bars, positioned beside a 20th-century glazed door. To the right, there is a 19th-century outshut with a pantile roof. Inside, the main room on the left includes a plank door leading to a winder staircase next to an open fireplace with brick jambs and a plain wood bressummer, along with a stop-chamfered beam. The roof features clasped purlins. This cottage is a rare example of a small early 19th-century dwelling.
