Description

HIGH STREET 1. 1633 (West Side) Premises occupied by Potbury end Sons Ltd SY 1287 1/94 II GV 2. Early C19. 3 storey 5 window stuccoed front. Low pitch gable end slate roof with wide eaves on shaped brackets. 2nd floor moulded sill course. Recessed sashes, glazing bars intact 2nd floor, Ground floor has 2 Victorian shop fronts, that on left larger and more elaborate: 8-light window (with canted side lights) divided by colonettes with foliate bases and caps. Frieze with modillions to heavy leaf decorated cornice. This is returned over doors each side, one glazed, the other of 6 panels, rectangular fanlights each flanked by heavy scrolled brackets supporting frieze. The right hand shop front is a large canted bay with frieze and moulded cornice.
