Description

The premises occupied by Govier and Son is an early 19th-century building, possibly featuring a stucco refacing and reroofing of an earlier structure. It stands two storeys high with a low-pitched gable-end slate roof, overhanging eaves, and bargeboards at the north end. The first floor has two altered casement windows. The ground floor has a modernised shop front that retains a heavy projecting frieze and cornice. This building is part of a group that includes the premises occupied by Peter Marsh, Burgoynes, and the National Westminster Bank.
