Description

The YMCA building on Mill Street, originally known as the Wesleyan Chapel, dates back to 1837. It is a plain rectangular structure with a rough cast exterior. The building originally featured flanking pilasters, which are now obscured by the rough cast. It has a low-pitched hipped slate roof with a moulded eaves cornice. The sides of the building have three tall round-headed windows, while the end has two. The upper parts of the windows retain their glazing bars, but lower down, two-light casements have been inserted.
