Description
Albion House is an early 19th-century, two-storey, three-window house located on the east side of High Street. The building is stuccoed and features a rainwater head dated 1820. It has a low-pitched gable end slate roof with bracketed eaves. The first-floor sash windows are recessed and retain their glazing bars.
The central entrance has a door made up of four fielded panels and two flush panels, with a moulded doorhead and a rectangular fanlight above. The doorcase is adorned with Greek Key panelled pilasters, roundel caps, and an open pediment.
On either side of the entrance are shop fronts. The right-hand shop front, dating from the early to mid-19th century, has a rectangular bay with four lights, a deep frieze, and a modillion cornice, along with a glazed shop door and a rectangular fanlight. The left-hand shop front is later and features a rectangular bay with a fascia board and a blind case inserted into the cornice.
Albion House and Warwick House together form a group.
