Description
Nos 8 and 9 West Street are two houses that were originally three, built in the mid to late 18th century. They are constructed of rubble stone and topped with a stone slate roof, featuring end stacks. The buildings are two storeys high and have a three-window arrangement of beaded three-light mullion windows. On the ground floor, there is an off-centre canted shop window with six panes over eighteen panes and six panes on an ashlar base. To the left of this shop window, there is one door, and to the right, there are two doors, all of which have hoods supported by brackets. Each side of the ground floor also has a three-light window similar to those on the first floor.
