Description
Nos 4 and 6 Market Place are a pair of mid-19th century houses located on the south side of Market Place in Colerne. They are constructed of rubble stone with ashlar dressings and feature a slate roof with end wall stacks. The houses have a four-window range, with two 12-pane sash windows on the left side of the first floor and two 4-pane sash windows on the right. A string course runs along the building.
On the ground floor, there are two central doors beneath stone hoods that are linked to a large central stone shell hood, which appears to be a reused feature from the 18th century. To the left of the doors, there is one 12-pane sash window and a timber shopfront that includes a 12-pane shop window and a door with a margin-glazed over light. To the right, there is one 4-pane window. The buildings are listed for their group value only.
