Description

LACOCK CHURCH STREET ST 9168 (south side) 4/69 Nos 25 and 26 20.12.60 GV II

Pair of houses, late medieval with C18 and C19 alterations. Rubble stone with timber-framed crosswing. Stone slate roof with ridge stack and north-east corner stack. 1 1/2 storeys. Left side is mostly refronted in C19 in squared rubble stone. Three dormer gables with 2-light cyma-moulded recessed mullion windows, original only in right gable. Ground floor C19 casement pair, two C19 doors and one original 2-light mullion window as above. East end wall has gable rebuilt in brick but ground floor C16 two-light chamfered recessed mullion window. Right side, No 26, has door under long timber-lintel for broader original opening and fine crosswing front to right. Jettied upper part with large tension braces and cambered tie-beam. First floor casement pair. Ground floor has casement pair with horizontal sliding shutter, brick jambs, rubble stone below. Interior not inspected.
