Pair of semi-detached houses. Mid C19. Limestone ashlar, hipped slate roof with moulded ashlar stacks to front and rear slopes over party walls. Double-depth plans. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; symmetrical block, each house 2-window range. Pilasters to corners and party wall; continuous moulded string course extending as shallow hoods on brackets at outer ranges. Overlights to C20 doors, C20 windows. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: incised panels and pyramidal caps to piers supporting low ashlar walls enclosing the front gardens. One of a group of houses in New Road built after the arrival of the railway in 1840-41.
