Description
Number 32 is a house now used for commercial purposes, built in the mid-19th century. It features a limestone ashlar exterior and a hipped slate roof with no chimneys. The building has a double-depth plan and is two storeys high, with a five-window range across three bays. The windows have segmental arches with keystones and a sill band at the first floor, with paired windows in the outer bays. The ground floor includes canted bays that have hipped slate roofs and chamfered architraves around the windows. There are steps leading up to a 20th-century door, which is set under a segmental arch with a keystone and a hood supported by brackets. The front garden is enclosed by a low coped ashlar wall with short pyramidal-capped piers. This house is part of a group of buildings constructed on New Road following the arrival of the railway in 1840-41.
