Description

Number 14, Market Square is a house that has been converted into offices. It was originally built around 1840, featuring a refronting of an earlier 18th-century house. The exterior is made of limestone ashlar with a gabled stone slate roof and a stone end stack. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall, presenting a symmetrical three-window range. The windows have raised architraves with triple keystones, and there are panelled double-leaf doors with an overlight and plate-glass sashes. The right bay is adorned with rusticated pilaster strips and has a similar sash window above a moulded semi-circular arch that leads to a blocked entry. At the rear, there is a mid to late 19th-century wing and a semi-circular bay window. The interior has not been inspected.
