Description
Hillside is a house dating from around 1850, located on the west side of Witney Market Square. It is designed in the Italianate style and features a stucco exterior with a hipped Welsh slate roof and brick end stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall, with a three-window range that includes a gabled bay on the left. The central entrance consists of a three-panelled door with a fanlight, flanked by Tuscan pilasters. The windows are chamfered and have seal-circular arches, with two-light configurations, plate-glass sashes, and scrolled stucco pediments. The left gabled bay features a square bay window with similar windows and a bracketed cornice, as well as dentilled cornices above similar windows on the upper level. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
