Description

The Mount is a house dating to circa 1850. It is constructed of stuccoed brick with a Welsh slate roof and a single brick gable chimney. The house is square in plan and features a symmetrical three-bay front, extending over three stories. Plain end pilasters and windows are incorporated into slight projections. A heavy wooden verandah with a lean-to roof and reeded piers runs across the front of the house. The end bays have flat stone heads with raised key blocks, and the ground floor openings contain pairs of glazed doors. Above are four-pane sash windows. The central bay is topped by a simple triangular pediment and contains similar windows, a half-glazed door, and a plain fanlight, all set within a plain semi-circular head. The building is listed for group value only.
