Description

Rock Bank and Rock Cottage is a timber-framed farmhouse, later divided into a house and shop, dating to 1601 with 19th and 20th century alterations and additions. The front is timber-framed with brick nogging, while the sides and rear are of rendered brick. The roof is covered in Welsh slate and features one gable and one brick ridge chimney. The two-storey, four-bay front has heavy, irregular small framing, with some sections rendered at ground floor level. The ground floor windows are enlarged, while the upper floor has three-light casement windows. A four-panelled door is located in the second bay. A wooden board bearing the inscription “HLL 1601” is mounted on the front of the building.
