Description

Number 41, 42, and 43 are a terrace of four houses, now used as offices, built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from limestone ashlar and feature a shallow-pitched hipped slate roof with wide eaves and moulded ridge stacks on the party walls. The buildings have double-depth plans with a single-storey rear wing at the center.

The exterior consists of two storeys and presents a symmetrical six-window range. A platband encircles the building. The entrances to the end houses are located in the returns and at the rear. The first floor has three 6-pane sash windows, while the ground floor features six 6-pane sashes. The facade appears to consist of two symmetrical three-window range houses, with the central ranges stepped forward, each containing a 6-panel door in plain surrounds. The rear wing has 20th-century windows and a coved cornice leading to a shallow-pitched roof with a coped gable at the back.

The interior has not been inspected. The property is enclosed by an ashlar wall approximately 1 meter high, which surrounds the front garden, and the gate piers opposite the doors have pyramidal caps. This terrace is part of a group of houses on New Road that were built following the arrival of the railway in 1840-41.
