Description

The Nursery is a 17th-century cottage located in Pewsey West, Sharcott. It features a timber frame set on brick footings, with brick noggings and a thatched roof. The building is single storey with an attic and consists of two bays, following a lobby entry plan. The framing is three panels high and includes tension braces at the rear. The central entrance has a raddle painted boarded door and is sheltered by a small lean-to porch. The cottage has timber paned casement windows and a small dormer in the half hipped roof. To the left, there is a single storey outbuilding constructed in rat-trap bond, clad in corrugated iron, with an asbestos roof. Much of the original framing has been heavily restored or replaced.
