Description
Huntly's is a house dating from the 17th century and 20th century, located in Manningford Abbots. It features a timber frame with rendered infilling and a thatched roof. The building has two storeys and two bays, oriented gable to the road, and was extended in the 20th century by an additional two bays and a cross wing at the far end, which may involve the rebuilding of an earlier structure. The framing consists of three panels high with corner braces. There is a 17th to 18th century brick stack at the east end of the two framed bays, which is incorporated into the later work. This stack has two periods, with the top rebuilt in the 18th century featuring a cogged head. The roof has a single purlin and is half-hipped with thatch. The extension on the north side includes 20th century doors and windows, with the entrance located there. The interior has not been seen. Part of the property is also in the parish of Pewsey.
