Description
Huntly's is a house dating from the 17th century and the 20th century, located in Manningford Abbots. It features a timber frame with rendered infilling and a thatched roof. The building is two storeys high with two bays, oriented gable to the road, and was extended in the 20th century by an additional two bays and a cross wing at one end, which may involve the rebuilding of an earlier structure. The framing consists of three panels high with corner braces. There is a brick stack from the 17th to 18th century at the east end of the two framed bays, which has been incorporated into later work; the stack has two periods, with the top rebuilt featuring a cogged head in the 18th century. The roof has a single purlin and is half-hipped thatch. The 20th-century doors and windows are located at the entrance in the extension on the north side. The interior has not been seen. Part of the property is situated in the parish of Pewsey.
