Description

No 3 is a house and former alehouse dating from the 19th century, with origins in the 16th to 17th centuries. The building is timber framed with some brick and has a pebbledashed finish from the early 20th century. It features a thatched roof and consists of three bays, with a narrow fourth bay on the left that contains a semi-basement and two floors, likely added in the 19th century. The layout follows a lobby entry plan with a boarded door. The windows are timber casements, and the central bay has a gable with concealed decorative framing. There is a small extension at the rear from the 20th century. Inside, the property includes chamfered and nicked stopped ends, 18th-century doors leading to the central living room, and concealed fireplaces. The roof contains some wind braces.
