Description
Nos 1 and 2 are a house that has been converted into two cottages, dating from the 16th to 17th century. The building is timber framed with whitewashed brick and wattle and daub infilling, topped with a thatched roof. It is a single storey with an attic and features a main range of 2 and a half bays that runs parallel to the road, with most of the framing replaced with brick and an off-centre gable. The left bay, which is cottage No 1, is an extension of the original house. To the right is a two bay cross wing added in the later 17th century, which is three panels high and has corner braces and close studding in the gable. There is a central stack in the rear bay and a side gable. The building has half-glazed doors and timber casement windows. The interior has not been seen.
