Description
Wisteria Cottage is an early 18th-century house located on the north-west side of High Street, Porton. The house is constructed with cob, faced with flint and brick lacings, and has a tiled roof. It is two storeys high and originally comprised three bays by two. A central boarded door and 20th-century timber casement windows are visible on the front. A small, raking buttress is present on the left gable. A small, two-storey rear kitchen wing dating from the later 18th century adjoins the original structure. The upper floor of the kitchen wing is timber-framed with brick noggings. The kitchen wing's roof is hipped, with an external stack offsetting the right gable end. A stable door allows access to the kitchen within the rear wing. Internally, the stair in the central stair hall features shaped splat balusters to the upper floor.
