Description
Brambles is a house dating from the early 18th century, constructed of flint and brick with some cob or chalkstone. The first floor features rendered timber framing, while the ground floor has been refaced in 20th-century brick. The house has a thatched roof and raised end quoins. It is two storeys tall and has three bays. The entrance is off-centre, featuring a door with glazing and a canopy supported by brackets. To the right of the entrance is a twelve-paned sash window with fielded shutters. The first floor has 19th-century casement windows, and there is a 20th-century window in the main living room to the left of the entrance. The right gable is tile hung. There are stacks on the left gable and to the right of the entrance, along with an added stack on the right gable. At the rear of the left bay, there is an offset two-storey wing made of chalk cob with a thatched roof, which has been extended at the back by a brick garage, also thatched. Inside, there is an open fireplace at the north end and deeply chamfered ceiling beams.
