Description
The front wall and piers to Antrobus House is a garden retaining wall with gate piers, a gate, and a terminal pier, built between 1924 and 1925 by Geoffrey Fildes. The wall features a design of flint and stone chequerwork with moulded stone copings and previously supported railings. It stands approximately 1 meter high and extends about 43 meters across the front of the building. At the south end, there is a 45-centimeter brick pier, and the central section curves towards similar brick piers, which have brick moulded necking and a stone cornice. The gate piers are topped with tall stone vases, and there are six rounded stone steps leading up to the iron gates. This structure has group value with Antrobus House.
