Description

Cannings Cottage is a lodge to Stowell Park, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of limestone and features a thatched roof in a cottage ornee style. The building is single storey, with bedrooms located in the roof space. It has three bays, with the central bay canted and featuring 12 and 9-pane sash windows, an arched window in the center, and 6-pane windows in the side bays. The thatch extends out to create a verandah supported by branched rustic posts. There is a central dormer and recessed dormers on the sides. To the right, there is a brick extension that is also thatched and has canted French windows. At the rear, there is a free-standing thatched outbuilding.
