Description
Wheldrake Lodge is a lodge for Escrick Park, built in the early 19th century and incorporating fragments from the medieval period. It has undergone some additions and alterations in the late 20th century, including a range at the rear that is of no particular interest. The building is constructed from magnesian limestone ashlar and features a plain tile roof. Originally, it was L-shaped in plan and is a single-storey structure with three bays. The entrance is located at the rear and consists of a late 20th-century glazed door. The main facade includes a late 20th-century casement window, while the gabled center bay features an oriel window. Above the facade, there are five medieval corbel stones incorporated into the design. The third bay is recessed and does not have any openings. The building also has ridge stacks.
