Description
The gates, piers, and railings at Wheldrake Lodge date from the early 19th century. They feature ashlar end piers with cast iron gates, piers, and railings. The end piers are tapering columns topped with ball finials. The railings are crescent-shaped, with bars that have circular motifs at both the top and bottom, and a cross motif in the center. The columnar gate piers also have ball finials. The gates consist of three levels of rails and bars, along with dog bars that are topped with ornate lance heads.
