Description
The School House and Hall is a mid-19th century building located on the north side of The Green in Wilcot. The structure features squared limestone with a thatched roof on the house and a slated roof on the schoolroom. The house is a single storey with an attic and is oriented gable-end towards the Green. It has an off-central door set within a boarded porch and timber casement windows, including a small canted bay at the gable end. Attached to the west is the schoolroom, also constructed of squared limestone, which has a lean-to made of rendered and lined brick. The schoolroom features timber casement windows and has two stacks: one against the house and the other has been taken down. A central windvane is present on the roof. The building is included for its group value, as it is positioned at a fixed spacing along the Green.
