Description

Mid 19th century. School and adjoining schoolhouse in

roughly L-plan arrangement. Single storey (house has attic); roughly-coursed rubble with contrasting ashlar dressings

(house S gable harled); mostly sash windows with 12-pane

glazing; corniced end/axial stacks; all roofed with graded

slates.

HOUSE: E elevation 3 bays, central door in stepped reveals

and with fanlight; 2 piended and canted dormers end stacks.

SCHOOL: S elevation 4 bays, that nearest W (school room)

gabled and with tall bipartite, axial roof ventilator over;

3-bay W elevation. Modern addition to N.
