Description

Mostly late 19th century. School and adjoining schoolhouse.

Rubble-built with ashlar dressings; mostly painted; some 20th

century brick additions. SCHOOLHOUSE 2 storeys; asymmetrical,

with gables and gabled dormer heads; axial stacks with

grouped flues; porch added at east; south elevation; advanced

inner gable flanked by bipartites at ground; cross window in

(school) gable at left, beyond tall belfry. SCHOOL:

essentially rectangular-plan (additions to east); long west

elevation has 6 regular bays with windows below gabled dormer

heads (2 inserted windows); small-paned glazing; 3 axial roof ventilators. Saw-toothed skews; roofed with graded slates.
