Description

Circa 1800. 2-storey and basement, 3-bay former schoolhouse with later L-plan former school projecting at rear; re-worked and converted to 5 houses late 20th century. Coursed rubble with squared rubble quoins to house; squared and snecked rubble with ashlar dressings to school; harled link.

SW (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical. Schoolhouse with 6-panelled door and plate glass fanlight to centre bay at ground, windows in flanking bays and regular fenestration to 1st floor.

SE (GRAVEYARD) ELEVATION: gabled bay of schoolhouse to outer left with window to each floor at right; tall 4-bay, single storey school to right with gabletted window to each bay and symmetrically-disposed modern dormer windows above.

NW ELEVATION: variety of elements to asymmetrical elevation including gabled schoolhouse projecting to right, gabled school with raised centre tripartite window projecting to left and recessed harled bay to centre.

Modern small-pane top-hopper and timber sash and case glazing throughout. Grey slates. Replacement coped rubble stacks with cans. Ashlar-coped skews and overhanging eaves with plain bargeboarding.
